About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Engineering Lead to guide and grow one of our full stack software engineering chapters. This role will be instrumental in driving the solution design, development, and maintenance of our customer facing systems. As a technical leader, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering leaders to ensure delivery of robust, user-centric solutions.

This role will be sitting within the Digital Retail side of Digital & Data within Endeavour reporting to the Head of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and technical direction of the applications within your domain
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute actively to codebases
  • Oversee the chapter's agile processes, ensure best practices in software engineering, testing, and CI/CD are followed
  • Review code, mentor both onshore and offshore engineers, and champion continuous improvement in technical practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture and technical roadmap aligned with product goals
  • Ensure our applications maintain a high standard of performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies to guide innovation and strategic decision-making
  • Support the recruitment of software engineers when needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years' leadership experience, with a proven track record in leading high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor software engineers, with a focus on standard practices, capability uplift while balancing sustainable delivery of high quality software
  • Expert stakeholder management skills; advanced ability to communicate complex ideas, concepts
  • Excellent C# / .Net / .Net Core development skills
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud infrastructure and components preferably Azure and able to facilitate design discussions
  • Excellent Angular, Typescript, CSS and HTML5 development skills
  • Modern development toolchain (VSTS/Azure DevOps/GIT etc)
  • CI/CD development/deployment practices
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of RESTful web services
  • Modern software design practices
  • Secure coding best practices
  • Strong development testing knowledge - Unit testing, test automation
  • Experience working in Agile Development teams
