In this role, you will be responsible for managing and protecting critical digital assets, ensuring network integrity, and optimizing infrastructure that helps deliver high-quality care to patients across Australia and New Zealand.
The Role
You will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and securing our network infrastructure. This position focuses heavily on firewall management, incident response, and proactive system optimization. You will collaborate across IT departments to deploy advanced security measures and maintain a robust, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Implementation: Assist in the evolution of our network, recommending scalable solutions for future growth.
- Security & Compliance: Develop firewall policies, conduct audits, perform risk assessments, and lead the response to security incidents.
- Optimization: Proactively monitor performance and resolve complex network issues to ensure 24/7 reliability.
- Documentation: Maintain precise network maps and documentation, providing data-driven reports for system improvements.
- Collaboration: Mentor junior engineers and partner with broader IT teams to ensure seamless operational flow.
- Maintenance: Execute upgrades and system maintenance with a focus on minimal disruption to clinical services.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Certifications: Juniper JNCIP (or equivalent) is highly regarded.
- Technical Expertise:
- Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience with Juniper technologies.
- 5+ years in network engineering covering routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Proficiency in WAN, LAN, and WLAN technologies.
- Tools & Systems: Familiarity with Apstra, SolarWinds, NetBox, and Wireshark.
- Desirable Extras: Experience with cloud networking, scripting/automation, and VoIP/IP telephony solutions.
Soft Skills & Requirements
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- A "safety-first" mindset regarding data security and network integrity.
- Ability to travel infrequently as required.
- Commitment to participating in a 24/7 on-call roster.
Salary: $125,000 - $135,000 per annum
