Lead Front-end Developer

Hudson is partnering with an established organisation to look for an experienced front end developer to lead one of Australia's most significant long-term digital transformation programs. This is a permanent role with a hybrid work arrangement based in Melbourne CBD.

About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Front-End Developer with 7+ years of front-end development experience to drive the design and delivery of modern, scalable, and secure web applications.

You will play a key role in uplifting front-end capability, improving performance, and championing best practices in accessibility and security.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing composable, responsive, mobile-first applications using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, NextJS, GraphQL, and Vue.js
• Creating reusable components aligned with a robust component-based architecture
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps and Git
• Ensuring high-quality code through testing frameworks including Jest, Cypress, Mocha, and React Testing Library
• Optimising front-end performance and implementing performance best practices
• Applying strong security practices to prevent XSS, CSRF, and ensure WCAG accessibility compliance
• Collaborating closely with designers, back-end developers, and stakeholders to deliver cohesive digital solutions
• Mentoring and guiding junior developers to uplift team capability

Experience & Qualifications

• 8-10 years of professional front-end development experience
• Advanced expertise in React, Angular, NextJS, GraphQL, Vue.js
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and front-end build tools
• Proven experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, Mocha, and React Testing Library
• Strong understanding of component architecture and reusability principles
• Deep knowledge of front-end security best practices and accessibility standards (WCAG compliance)
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Experience mentoring junior developers

Salary: $190,000 - $200,000 per annum | Permanent | Full Time | Hybrid
