We’re hiring for a Senior Infrastructure Designer. Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Design and Delivery, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Australia Post’s Enterprise Enablement network and infrastructure programs. In this position, you’ll design, implement, maintain and optimise secure, scalable and high‑performance infrastructure solutions across our corporate, retail and logistics environments. This is a unique opportunity to set design standards and best practices, ensuring every solution aligns with enterprise architecture and supports strategic initiatives such as ALM and our cyber security uplift, enabling efficient, future‑ready service delivery nationwide.

What you’ll deliver with us 

  • Design and document Infrastructure solutions for new and existing infrastructure, cloud and security projects.
  • Support leadership team to implement and maintain design centre of excellence (CoE)
  • Provide technical guidance to Infrastructure engineers to successfully deliver the project outcomes
  • Participate and lead Infrastructure changes in the CAB and TRA
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Cloud Designers, Delivery Leads, and external vendors to validate technical feasibility.
  • Develop high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) for On-Prem infrastructure (PaaS, IaaS) and Multi-cloud environments (SaaS)
  • Ensure compliance with security policies
  • Support estimation workshops and provide input into NIE delivery planning to support business case development.

About You 

You have strong experience in enterprise infrastructure design, working with technologies like Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, F5 and Fortinet. Your skills span virtualisation, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), and hybrid connectivity models, with a solid understanding of architecture principles and best practices. You’re confident designing resilient, high-availability solutions, building relationships across diverse teams, and working autonomously. A background in modern technology stacks, change management and Agile delivery will set you up for success in this role.

You’ll also bring 

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited direction
  • Significant experience in enterprise network design (Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, F5, Fortinet
  • Strong understanding of MAC binding, VLANs, IP routing, and network segmentation.
  • Strong overall business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp business issues and understand business strategy.
