About the role

This role sits within Toll's Government and Defence IT team and plays a key part in designing, developing, and supporting modern business solutions across the Microsoft 365 Collaboration and Power Platform.

As a SharePoint and Power Platform Developer, you will build contemporary SharePoint sites and automate business processes using Power Apps and Power Automate, helping to improve operational efficiency, collaboration, and user experience across the organisation.

Working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams, you will ensure all solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Toll's governance and security frameworks, while delivering reliable outcomes for internal users and customers. This role is critical in accelerating the delivery of business solutions and ensuring SharePoint and Power Platform services are used effectively, securely, and to their full potential within Toll.

A day in the life of a SharePoint & Power Platform Developer at Toll Group:

  • Administer, support, and govern Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, security controls, and governance frameworks to ensure availability, integrity, and compliance.
  • Design, develop, configure, and integrate solutions across Microsoft 365 and third‑party systems to enable end‑to‑end business workflows.
  • Lead application lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, configuration changes, performance monitoring, testing, incident management, and vendor escalation.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, drive continuous process improvements, and ensure customer and business impact is considered across all initiatives.
  • Collaborate across teams and projects, working with engineering, product, and delivery teams while participating in IT projects and adhering to organisational policies and standards.
  • Enable knowledge transfer and sustainability by training business SMEs and developing, maintaining, and updating system documentation, SOPs, and end‑user guides.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Strong Microsoft 365 technical capability, including SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure AD, app registrations, authentication, API integrations, and administration/support of business applications.
  • Robust understanding of security, governance, and risk, including data protection, authorisation controls, retention and privacy policies, system risk awareness, and driving data ownership across the business.
  • Operational effectiveness and change leadership, with knowledge of operational and change management, ability to anticipate and mitigate issues, manage escalations, and deliver work through to completion.
  • Highly developed communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills, including presenting at all organisational levels, negotiating effectively, building cross‑functional relationships, and communicating simply and accurately.
  • Collaborative, customer‑focused, and values‑driven approach, demonstrated through teamwork, integrity, accountability, pragmatism, customer focus, end‑user training, and experience working in corporate team environments.
  • Adaptive, self‑motivated, and resilient mindset, with strong problem‑solving skills, initiative, innovation, energy, curiosity, flexibility to travel, ability to work autonomously in fast‑paced environments, and comfort with hybrid working arrangements.
