We require an experienced Technical / Document Writer to support a key project within a Utilities environment.

You will focus on reviewing, updating and creating Work Instructions and operational documentation that will be relied on by field workers, customer-facing teams and operational staff.

About the Role

You will work closely with Business SMEs, Business Analysts and Change Managers to ensure documentation accurately reflects process and system changes across multiple business areas, including metering, billing, field services, asset & operations, customer operations and contact centres.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and update existing Work Instructions, procedures and operational documentation
• Create new Work Instructions where gaps exist
• Ensure documentation reflects related changes to workflows, data flows and system behaviour
• Translate complex technical and process information into clear, practical, user-friendly instructions
• Manage a high volume of documentation updates with strong attention to detail and consistency
• Incorporate SME and stakeholder feedback accurately and efficiently

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical or Document Writer, ideally within utilities, field services or regulated environments
• Strong experience producing Work Instructions, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), procedures or operational guides
• Ability to quickly understand complex systems and processes and document them clearly
• Comfortable working across systems such as SAP, IEE, Business Objects or similar
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
• Exceptional attention to detail, with an understanding of the impact on field safety, customer communications and operational accuracy
• Ability to work at pace while maintaining quality under tight timelines
